Skechers Performance GOrun 4 -2016 Review

I have been pleased with the Skechers Performance shoes that I have tested in the past.  The GOrun Ultra 2 is a max cushioned trail shoe and its sister shoe is the GOrun Ultra Road, which is made for running on pavement, hence the name.  I really liked both the Ultra 2 and Ultra Road.  They both have plenty of cushion and fit really well.  I have also tested the GOmeb Speed 3, which is an awesome, extremely fast shoe that is great for races, tempo runs, and speed workouts.  Here are links to my past reviews.

I just got the GOrun 4 - 2016 to test out a few weeks back.  It has more cushion than the GOmeb, but less than the Ultra shoes.   Just taking them out of the box, I was impressed with the look, materials, and weight.  More on that in a little.  Many people know about Skechers shoes, but most people don’t know how good their Performance shoe line is.

The upper material is made of Skechers Performance GOknit seamless mesh material.  It is light weight and conforms to your feet.  There are light weight overlays and translucent reinforcement around the eyelets to increase durability where it is needed.  The GOrun 4 - 2016 has a nice roomy toe box, which is way better than most shoes that compress your toes.

Skechers Performance uses a proprietary light-weight material, Resalyte, which helps absorb the impact as you land.  The M-Strike technology promotes a midfoot strike and the GOimpulse sensors on the bottom of the shoe (the pods) offer flexibility and feedback for a responsive running experience.

I know that I am throwing out a lot of terms that are specific to Skechers Performance shoes, so what does it all really come down to?  The answer is a really comfortable, fast shoe that allows you to feel the road, but provides enough cushion to make the miles fly by.  I just tested the shoe again a few days back and my plan called for 6 miles at a pace faster than my best 10k pace.  I had to stop several times, but it was only due to my lack of oxygen.  The GOrun 4 - 2016 performed flawlessly and to be honest, I didn’t even think about the shoes, which is about the best complement that I can give for any shoe.

Pros
Really Inexpensive (as low as $50 if you look around on google)
Low heel drop at 4mm
Super-Lightweight at 7.8 ounces (men’s size 9)
Upper mesh conforms to your foot

The Skechers Performance GOrun 4 - 2016 is so light weight and comfortable that you could use this shoe for any distance or speed.    You can get a pair on the Skechers Performance website for $105, but I would look around.  My coworker is going to pick up a pair and was finding them all over the internet for as little as $50.  This is another great shoe in the Skechers Performance shoe lineup and you should give these shoes a try, especially if you can get them on sale.
