Hydrapak Softflask 500ml Review

Hydrapak started with the belief that there is a better way to hydrate.  Hydrapak first started with their Reversible Reservoir.  It was, and continues to be) the only fully reversible reservoir on the market, which makes cleaning and drying it a breeze.  Since then, Hydrapak has been working to create better hydration solutions for performance-driven people and brands.  For nearly two decades, they have been pushing the boundaries of hydration to create rugged, safe, and reliable products.  Hydrapak's products and technology are used in products from Nathan Sports, The North Face, Ultimate Direction and more.

One of the innovative products that Hydrapak has come up with is the SoftFlask.  It is a fully collapsible sports bottle that can be used for running, bicycle riding, skiing, or any other activity where you might need to hydrate.  It can be easily stashed in a bike jersey pocket, ski jacket, running vest, or you can just hold it while you are out on a run.

The SoftFlask comes in many sizes from 150 ml to 750 ml.  The prices range from $12.99 for the 150 ml version to $20.99 for the 750 ml version.  They come in several different colors, depending on the size you want.  I tested the SoftFlask 500ml in orange, but it also comes in white or smoke (grey) as well.

The SoftFlask 500ml comes with a comfortable finger loop to hold on to or clip to your pack once there’s no more water left.  It collapses as you drink, which reduces sloshing and the overall weight you are carrying.  It collapse down so small that you can fit it in the palm of your hand.

The 42mm sport cap with a silicone bite valve and dust cover is great.  You can twist the cap to lock it and avoid accidental spills.  You can even squeeze the SoftFlask and no water will come out unless you bite on the valve.  This thing is so durable that you can stand on it without it bursting (check out the video at about 35 seconds).  The dust cap will keep the bite valve clean, especially on dusty trail runs.

You can freeze your SoftFlask or fill it with warm water.  It is 100% BPA and PVC free and comes with a No-Leak Guarantee.  Hydrapak’s products are built to last, even in the harshest environments.  They stand behind everything that they make.  Check this out though.  If doesn’t matter where you get your product (if you got some SoftFlasks with an Ultimate Direction Vest, like the TO Race Vest 3.0) they guarantee it.  If for any reason, you are not satisfied with your Hydrapak product, just email or call them and they will make it right. *

Pros:
Decent price, starting at $12.99
Very light weight
Leak-proof
Collapses as you drink for storage and to reduce sloshing
Extremely durable

Hydrapak continues to be an innovative leader in the hydration industry.  Many of their products and design are used in not only their own products, but in some of the largest names in the hydration industry.  I was extremely impressed with the SoftFlask 500ml that was sent to me by Hydrapak as well as the ones that came with the Ultimate Direction TO Race Vest that I tested.  The price is great and I am utterly amazed by the fact that someone can stand on it without it breaking (as shown in the video).  This is a great product and I definitely recommend it.  You can pick yours up at the Hydrapak website, online, or at a store near you (click here for locations).  Get yours today and be prepared to be amazed.

Note:  I received this product in exchange for a review.  The review is my personal opinion of the product and I was not required to give a particular opinion of it.  I am not a doctor, so please use all of the products that I review at your own risk.
